Visit Charleston

By now I’m sure most of y’all are tired of hearing about Charleston, and if you’re one of those people sorry, not sorry. It was seriously one of the most beautiful cities that I’ve ever visited, from the food to the beautiful homes I was sold from day one. Which is why this week’s Tuesday Tip is for you to Visit Charleston. If you follow me on Instagram (which if you don’t, now is the perfect time) then you’ve seen plenty of snaps of the beautiful city over the last few weeks, and today I’m going to share some of my favorite spots around Charleston.

Food: Let’s get the most important bits of Charleston out of the way first, where to eat. There were SO many good places to eat in the city, and it was honestly hard to decide which places to try while in town. Luckily, Lauren must have been a tour guide in a former life because she managed to pick all of the best places for us to try out. My favorites were: Leon’s Oyster Shop, Eli’s Table, MacIntosh, and Leaf

Drinks: The list of spots to grab a drink at happens to be just as long, if not longer than the list of restaurants, which can seem a little daunting – not gonna lie. All of the above restaurants had amazing drinks, seriously SO good, but if you’re looking to grab drinks at another spot after dinner there’s The Cocktail Club above MacIntosh, or I’d recommend the gorgeous and HUGE rooftop bar at The Vendue.

Where To Stay: #SBScon was luckily enough to be hosted by and at Belmond: Charleston Place, and I have to say even after my trips to NYC and LA this hotel was hands down the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in to date, and on top of that the staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating – which speaks volumes to their culture, especially seeing as how they were dealing with 75 probably high-maintenace bloggers for 3 days straight. One of the employees even came to our opening cocktail party just to introduce himself because he was also from Kentucky, talk about small world!

The City: Last but not least, you should visit because of the city. Sure, it has incredible food and drink – some of the best I’ve ever had to be honest, and we all know how much of a foodie I am. But regardless of all the above I fell in love with the city before I ever had a chance to put any of the food into my mouth. The history and culture of the city is everywhere you look, and the locals are beyond are friendly – even with the massive amount of tourists that are in town every, single day. If nothing else you have to at least explore Rainbow Row, King Street, and The French Quarter
